Richard Lutz, CEO of Deutsche Bahn AG said:

“More rail in Germany and Europe and thus more climate protection: that is and remains our goal. As an integrated provider and partner of the sector, industry and politics, DB is also standing for this at InnoTrans. With innovative approaches and digital technologies in infrastructure and with noticeable improvements for our customers in trains, connections and integrated public transport services, we are taking responsibility for a strong railway.”

Deutsche Bahn’s Key Presentations at InnoTrans 2024:

Fleet Expansion for Infrastructure Maintenance: DB is investing in its construction machinery fleet to enhance its capacity for infrastructure maintenance and repair. This will allow DB to handle the growing volume of construction work on the German rail network and respond to disruptions more efficiently. New long-distance drones, which will support various tasks from the air, will also be unveiled for the first time at the event.

The Future of Regional Transport: DB is showcasing the next generation of S-Bahn, the S-Bahn 2029+, which offers a modular design that can be adapted to regional needs quickly and cost-effectively. The company is also advancing integrated mobility solutions by signing a new agreement to develop mobility services in a model region, which will integrate various forms of transport with rail services.

New Direct Connections for Long-Distance Travelers: DB is introducing new direct train connections within Germany and across Europe. These new routes will make it easier for passengers to travel to key destinations without the need for transfers, enhancing the appeal of climate-friendly train travel. This is part of DB’s broader vision of fostering a more interconnected and sustainable European rail network.

Innovations in Rail Freight: DB Cargo, Europe’s largest freight railway, is demonstrating innovative logistics solutions, including a freight train designed for “green steel” supply chains. The train features dual-power locomotives and freight wagons, which will be displayed at the Berlin exhibition.
