The Société du Grand Paris has announced that construction work is now underway at Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) airport for line 17 of the Grand Paris Express.
Line 17 will span 26.5 kilometres and will cover 13 municipalities in Paris. The service will connect Saint-Denis Pleyel and Le Mesnil Amelot in less than 25 minutes and will stop at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport’s Terminal 2.
Construction machinery has now been delivered to the airport site and preparatory work has begun, marking the start of construction for this new metro service.
Four service structures will be constructed at CDG to enable the metro to safely operate. In addition, a new station will be built to accommodate nearly 40,000 daily travellers by 2030.
The first step in this project is to prepare the site for the construction of these structures. This includes creating access roads, installing security palisades and deviating buried networks.
Once this work is complete, major construction can begin.
