CAF has announced the signing of a new contract with Brazilian company Trivia Trens S.A. for the comprehensive maintenance of a fleet of 107 electric trains operating on the 11-Coral, 12-Safira, and 13-Jade commuter lines of the São Paulo State railway network.

The 24-year contract, valued at 500 million EUR, is one of CAF’s largest service agreements to date, and will initially see the company begin by launching assisted commercial operations in July 2026.

Covering the maintenance of a fleet consisting predominantly of units manufactured by CAF, the contract will also see the fleet equipped with the company’s digital platform LeadMind, which aims to optimise train performance and provide real-time monitoring of critical parameters, condition-based maintenance indicators, and predictive analytics.

The 11-Coral, 12-Safira, and 13-Jade lines span more than 100km in total, and serve approximately 800,000 daily passengers in a set of key municipalities including São Paulo, Guarulhos, Mogi das Cruzes, Poá, Suzano, Ferraz de Vasconcelos, and Itaquaquecetuba.
