Utilising a new hybrid battery; the EURO9000’s high tractive effort and performance allows for single-traction operation across challenging terrain, with its onboard battery capable of providing necessary additional support to the locomotive.

The vehicle’s intelligent battery management system aims to support regenerative braking, reduce peak grid costs and enable targeted energy purchases.

Iñigo Parra, CEO of Stadler Valencia, said:

We are proud to support NEXRAIL in the market launch of the EURO9000 battery-hybrid locomotives.

This order underlines our joint commitment to sustainable innovation in rail freight. By combining high-performance electric drive with emission-free battery operation, the EURO9000 sets new standards for flexible and environmentally friendly traction solutions in Europe.
