Cable Troughing System Wins UK Award

We are delighted to announce that our ‘Rapid Route’ ARCOSYSTEM®, designed to safely contain trackside power cables, has won a national rail award in the UK.

Rapid Route won the Partnership Award at the Railway Industry Association’s (RIA) Railway Industry Supplier Excellence (RISE) Awards, held at a glittering ceremony at The Landmark London hotel.

RIA award

The achievement, awarded by the RIA’s expert judging panel, recognises the successful collaboration between Complete Composite Systems, Anchor Systems (International) Limited, Scott Parnell, and Castioni Kabelführungssysteme GmbH, who have worked together to bring the rail sector an innovative cable management system that provides a 73% reduction in embodied carbon while improving health and safety for on-site operatives and reducing installation costs by 40%.

Fitted at six-metre centres for swift installation, the Rapid Route technique of installing ARCOSYSTEM® uses a foundation system that replaces the need to excavate and use cast in-situ posts to support the elevated troughing. Instead, Anchor Screws are driven into the ground from the surface, and the domed connections between the Anchor Screws and ARCOSYSTEM® provide alignment correction for an accurate first-time installation.

This efficient and carbon-saving method, in combination with the lightweight composite ARCOSYSTEM® troughing, reduces strain and injuries to on-site installation teams.

Founded in 1875, the Railway Industry Association (RIA) has more than 360 member companies, helping to grow a sustainable, high-performing, railway supply industry, and to export UK rail expertise and products. The RISE Awards celebrate the excellence and achievements of the UK rail supply community, in a range of categories.

ARCOSYSTEM® troughing, supported by galvanised steel bracketry, is manufactured from pultruded glass fibre reinforced polymers (GRP/FRP) for long-term durability in all weathers. Different sizes of troughing are available for a variety of cable containment installations in the railway industry and beyond. For more information, contact our technical experts at CCS.
