New Term for Technology Tuesdays

Following on from our summer webinar programme designed to help the rail industry achieve more rail life with less track maintenance, our Rail Technologies team is returning with a new series of autumn dates.

The new programme will begin on Tuesday 6 October from 12.30-13.15.

Technology Tuesdays Autumn Timetable

October

  • Tues 6 – Making tracks
  • Tues 20 – Ensuring weld integrity: joining

November

  • Tues 3 – Comparison of rail steel grades
  • Tues 17 – Ensuring weld integrity: repair.
Rail Technologies Manager Dr Lindsey Smith said:

“We introduced the lunchtime sessions back in June to help customers address the challenges of higher traffic volumes, heavier axle loads and faster train speeds. Our summer programme was a great success, capturing attendees from right across the railway industry, so it was something we definitely wanted to build on. Our customers told us that they wanted to learn more about what we do and how we can help, so we're excited to launch this new series.

“Our autumn seminars will be a bit different, going back to basics with a look at rail manufacturing, examining grade selection and exploring a range of welding techniques for different applications – hopefully a bit of something for everyone!”
