Alstom has signed a new services contract with UK rail franchise Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) valued at 256 million GBP (293.72m EUR | 288.36m USD).
The rail manufacturer has a long-term relationship with GTR, having serviced its fleets for almost two decades.
This latest technical support and spares supply agreement will run for five years from this month, aligning with GTR’s current national rail contract.
Alstom will now continue to support the Derby-built Class 377 and Class 387 Electrostar fleets in operation on Southern, Gatwick Express and Great Northern services into London’s Victoria and King’s Cross stations.
GTR and Alstom teams located across GTR’s four major depots in Battersea, Brighton, Hornsey and Selhurst, as well as Alstom’s material supply facility in Brighton, are responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability and safety of a total fleet of 1,210 cars.
