Passengers at Liverpool Lime Street station can now get free, unlimited WiFi that’s fast enough to support video calls and streaming.
This service has been launched just in time to welcome more passengers back after the last of the UK’s lockdown measures are lifted on 19 July.
Network Rail’s upgraded service uses the latest technology so that passengers can connect multiple devices without having to create an account to log in, and was introduced after feedback from customers.
Certified as ‘Friendly WiFi’, the new service is compliant with the UK Government’s safe filtering standards for public WiFi and considered child-friendly. It is being rolled out across Network Rail managed stations nationwide, with plans to have 19 of the biggest stations connected by the end of 2021.
“Passengers have told us that…free WiFi was a must –so we’ve provided it. I’d urge anyone to take advantage of the new reliable and secure service when travelling through the station. This is the first station in the north west with the free upgraded WiFi. Next up is Manchester Piccadilly.”
