Indra has been awarded a new contract by Spanish railway infrastructure management firm Adif to carry out maintenance and support of systems and equipment operating at its Traffic Regulation Centres – via which the entire high-speed network is controlled remotely and in real time.
The contract, which has been valued at 32.7 million EUR, will last four years, and aims to guarantee the continuity of large-scale and complex technical work required to ensure maximum operability and reliability of this technology, which is key for ongoing rail transport.
Overall, the project will encompass both preventive and scheduled maintenance, as well as renewal of all systems of equipment, corrective maintenance and the handling of potential incidents at the Traffic Regulation Centres in Madrid (Atocha, Delicias and Villaverde), Antequera, Albacete, and Zaragoza.
Equipment and systems in question include the Centralized Traffic Control (CTC) and Da Vinci system, which, developed by Indra in partnership with Adif, manages the Spanish high-speed rail network and aims to optimise operations, improve network efficiency, increase available capacity, and reinforce high levels of both safety and reliability.
