Hitachi Rail has signed a new 15-year Technology Partner Framework Agreement with the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA).
The Agreement, which establishes Hitachi Rail as SYMCA’s long-term strategic technology partner for its Supertram network, will see Hitachi Rail support the renewal of integral Supertram systems, providing a number of digital solutions aimed at enhancing operation performance and passenger experience.

The new framework is expected to create local jobs, encourage skills development and increase supply chain engagement in Northern England.

We look forward to starting work together, which over the first couple of years will initially focus on systems to improve the reliability of timetable delivery alongside enhanced real-time information, making journeys smoother and more predictable for passengers.
