Tune into Technology Tuesdays
British Steel’s Rail Technologies team is embarking on a programme of lunchtime webinars designed to help the rail industry achieve more rail life with less track maintenance.
Today’s railways face the challenges of higher traffic volumes, heavier axle loads and faster train speeds – each taking their toll on the railway lines beneath.
The fortnightly sessions, dubbed ‘Technology Tuesdays’, will look at how British Steel is helping customers to address these issues, having gained a thorough understanding of their individual track needs.
The programme kicks off on Tuesday 16 June from 12.30-13.15, with Rail Technologies Manager Dr Lindsey Smith taking you through the hazardous effects of salt and water on rail and demonstrating how using our corrosion resistant Zinoco® is helping to improve the life of railways across the world.
Technology Tuesdays timetable:
June
- Tues 16 – Zinoco: End of the line for rail corrosion
- Tues 30 – HP335: Combating RCF and life cycle costs
July
- Tues 14 – Understanding rail defects and solutions: wear and corrugation
- Tues 28 – Improving track installation efficiency with steel sleepers
August
- Tues 11 – Understanding rail defects and solutions: RCF and squats
