Flexible and Functional – Portfolio Expansion of the SLE16n Series

The SLE163 is distinguished by an optionally separately controllable bicolor field that allows for the simultaneous signaling of two different signals or status indicators.

This is achieved through two clearly separated LED chambers that can be controlled independently. With 9 + 9 segmented controllable LEDs each, it is possible to display different colors either at the top and bottom or left and right (see picture below). This feature not only increases flexibility but also significantly enhances the range of applications for the signal light. Additionally, the LED chambers can be individually equipped with specific colors according to customer requirements, allowing for easy customization for various applications.

Dual Functionality

The potential applications of the SLE163 are extremely diverse. It not only serves as a signal light to indicate door status in trains but also supports the safe boarding and alighting of passengers. A key advantage of the SLE163 is its ability to function as both an Optical Door Indicator Light (ODIL) and a Passenger Emergency Alarm (PEA). One light chamber signals the current state of the doors, while the other indicates in a complementary color when a passenger is in an emergency situation. This simultaneous signaling of technical faults and personal emergencies ensures that both staff and passengers are optimally informed at all times.

Improved Lateral Visibility

The SLE163, like the SLE161 and SLE162 from the SLE16n series, ensures excellent lateral visibility. This is particularly important for the train driver, as he can easily perceive the light in the camera system or in the rearview mirror, providing clear feedback on the train’s readiness for departure. Furthermore, the repositioning of the LEDs enhances the visibility of door statuses for visually impaired individuals, thereby increasing safety for all passengers.

Robust Design with Customizable Features

The introduction of the SLE163 contributes to a higher level of safety in the operation of rail vehicles, reduces accidents, and optimizes traffic flow. With its robust housing technology and degree of protection the SLE163 is ideally suited to the challenges of rail operations and meets all current standards for rail vehicles (EN 50155, EN 45545-2, and EN 61373). Additionally, it is optionally available with a black molded seal that covers the white base plate, allowing it to integrate seamlessly into the overall design of the vehicle.

The SLE163 also meets individual customer requirements and ensures reliable visibility and safety, easily adapting to the demanding needs of the industry. Its versatile applicability optimizes operational processes and enhances passenger safety.

This flexibility makes the SLE163 an optimal solution for a wide range of applications in the rail sector, where both efficiency and safety are paramount.
