On the occasion of the InnoTrans fair in Berlin, Amberg Technologies will present its new IMS system with GNSS. Cutting-edge IMU technology combined with GNSS is the perfect solution for performing a track survey without control points and track design information.
Oftentimes railway surveyors are expected to provide data for challenging construction and maintenance projects on tracks whose control points and design information are missing. Up to now, the reconstruction of the missing data required a lot of time and resources.
Marius Schäuble, Head of Rail Systems Unit at Amberg Technologies, emphasises:
In 2015 we were the first to equip a manually operated track surveying instrument with an IMU module and ever since we have continuously developed this technology and successfully used for various applications. To add a GNSS module was for us a logical evolution to make the work of surveyors even easier and to provide the required 3D track data.
The collected survey data enable to generate automatically a 3D model of the track alignment and 3D coordinates of the newly created control points, which are compatible with BIM platforms and CAD systems. With the help of the Amberg Rail software, designed for both field and office applications, survey engineers can make the most of their data: analyse the track geometry, calculate the Track Quality Index (TQI), produce reports and much more.
Surveying engineer Zhiqiang, project leader at the Shenyang Railway Bureau (China), said:
The results were very good. The device is compact, easy to use, flexible and last but not least, very fast!
Like many other specialists, Zhiqiang successfully used the Amberg IMS system with GNSS for a high-speed railway expansion and renovation project.
Talk to our experts and learn more about the first GNSS-based track surveying system meeting the real requirements of track construction and maintenance. We look forward to meeting you in hall 25, booth 314.
