Signalling Solutions Ltd (SSL), Alstom’s UK signalling joint venture, has been awarded a 54 million contract by Network Rail to supply a signalling system for the Crossrail East Anglia section.

The contract states that SLL will design, manufacture, supply, install, test and commission the signalling control system. The signalling system will use Alstom’s Smartlock interlocking technology.

The work will take place between Pudding Mill Lane Junction on the Great Eastern Main Line in the East of London through to Shenfield in Essex. The work contracted is already in progress and is aimed to be completed in August 2018.

Were delighted to be able to bring our Smartlock technology to another part of the Crossrail project after our work, through SSL, on the Crossrail West Inner project. With our ATCjoint venture also starting work on the Crossrail tunnels, were very much at the heart of this project said Terence Watson, UK Managing Director of Alstom Transport
