Bombardier Unveil New Design for Stockholm Metro Fleet

Bombardier Transportation and the Stockholm Traffic Administration have unveiled their latest design for the new C30 MOVIA metro for the city of Stockholm, along the Red Line. The designs were unveiled at the EurasiaRail 2015 in Istanbul.

The new C30 MOVIA has been designed to sharply increase the Stockholm’s transport capacity and comfort. As one of Europe’s most rapidly growing cities, Stockholm has invest heavily to make sure that the C30 MOVIA meets the standard it needs. This new design will includes new features such as bi-parting doors for faster entry and exit, four-by-four seating arrangement with additional seats along the side to optimise comfort, capacity and passenger flow.
The new metro fleet also represents extensive dialogue with representatives of various groups. The number of designated priority zones has been increased to eight, to ensure plenty of room for persons with reduced mobility as well as providing extra room for those travelling with wheelchairs, baby carriages and extra-large luggage.
Speaking of the new metro, Klas Whlberg, Managing Director of Bombardier Transportation in Sweden said, When public transport is attractive, sustainable travel will increase. With this metro design, Stockholm has taken this motto to an entirely new level to the benefit of both commuters and the city as a whole for many years to come.
