Egis has been appointed as the Site Supervision Consultant for the reactivation of the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) Transit System in Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh.
The 3.6-kilometre elevated monorail will operate six two-car trains on a one-way loop, serving six stations integrated into public buildings. Once operational, the line will connect with the Riyadh Metro and complement KAFD’s extensive pedestrian skywalk network.

Egis’s responsibilities include supervising civil and structural works, rolling stock, rail systems, utilities, mechanical and electrical systems, as well as reviewing design documents and ensuring compliance during construction.
The company previously contributed to the Riyadh Metro as part of the Riyadh Metro Transit Consultants consortium, overseeing design and construction on three of the city’s metro lines.
The revived transit system is expected to support KAFD’s ambition to promote walking and public transport use, in line with wider Vision 2030 urban mobility objectives.
