Riyadh Metro, which is operated by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, has reached a significant milestone, carrying its 100 millionth passenger less than nine months after the system opened in December 2024.

Passenger data show that the Blue Line, which runs along the Olaya Road axis, has been the busiest to date, carrying around 46.5 million people. The Red Line, serving King Abdullah Road, has carried about 17 million passengers, while the Orange Line along Madinah Road has carried 12 million.

Stations at Qasr Al Hokm, King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), STC and the National Museum together accounted for 29 percent of total use. Each of these locations acts as an interchange between lines, contributing to their higher passenger volumes.

The metro has recorded a punctuality rate of 99.78 percent since the start of operations.

Riyadh Metro forms part of the city’s wider public transport system, which also includes Riyadh Bus services, Bus-on-Demand and Park & Ride facilities. The integration of these modes is designed to improve mobility for both residents and visitors, while offering a range of options for urban travel.
