Retrofit for Rhaetian Railway Maintenance Vehicle

The two WINDHOFF catenary and assembly vehicles delivered to Rhaetian Railway in 1993 are now getting old and will be upgraded with state-of-the-art retrofit measures. The first vehicle is once again resplendent after an extensive overhaul. It was sent back home on 21 November.

The works performed included overhauling the hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical installations; refurbishing all of the cabin equipment; revising the bogies by replacing the wheel discs; installing a new, larger crane; increasing the maximum operating speed from 60 to 90km/h; and installing a new train protection system.

The second vehicle will be modified in the same way over the coming months.

The entire WINDHOFF team hopes the catenary and assembly vehicles have a successful new lease on life.
