The Office for Rail and Road (ORR), Network Rail and the Department for Transport (DfT) have launched the Better Value Rail toolkit.

This new toolkit is an ‘online space’ for those sponsoring rail projects and their advisors to assist them in making good decisions early on in rail projects. The aim of this Better Value Rail toolikt is to deliver projects more quickly, save money and give certainty that rail is the best fit for the project.

The Better Value Rail website was developed in collaboration between the DfT, Network Rail and the ORR.

Andrew Haines, Chief Executive, Network Rail, said:

The Better Value Rail toolkit has been developed based on listening extensively to stakeholders about how we can provide clear advice and support, be easier to do business with and help ensure focus on schemes which have a good chance of being delivered. That’s why we believe the toolkit will help us turn good ideas into great schemes, delivering for passengers, local communities and the taxpayer.
