MTR Launches New Open Access Intercity Train Service in Sweden

MTR has successfully launched an all-new openaccess train service in Sweden, with this first trains running on Saturday 21 March 2015.

MTR Express will serve the 455 kilometre route connecting Swedens two largest cities the capital Stockholm on the east coast and the industrial city of Gothenburg in the west. 

Operated by MTR Express (Sweden) AB, a wholly owned subsidiary of MTR Corporation, the service features a fleet of brand new energy efficient Swiss-built trains designed for Nordic weather conditions and also introduces a range of customer service enhancements to the Swedish market.

These include ergonomically designed business class seating throughout the trains to ensure a comfortable travel experience for all passengers and an online 24-hour booking service with seat selection through a dedicated website, www.mtrexpress.se.

MTR Express Energy Efficient Fleet

Globally MTR has a track record of delivering performance excellence. In the UK, the London Overground, which MTR jointly operates as part of London Overground Rail Operations Limited (LOROL), is one of the UKs top-performing rail services with an outstanding record for both punctuality and customer satisfaction.

MTR will begin running TfL Rail branded services between Liverpool St and Shenfield from May 2015, as the first part of the Crossrail concession.  Additionally, London Overground will take on extra routes and services, with longer trains introduced on existing routes from 31 May.
