LTG Infra Launches New Tender for Rail Baltica Construction in Lithuania

LTG Infra has announced a new tender for Rail Baltica construction works in Kėdainiai and Panevėžys, Lithuania.

The scope of this work will include the preparation of a 17-kilometre trackbed and the construction of three new railway bridges on the section between Šėta and Ramygala.

The Rail Baltica infrastructure project will build a fully electrified double-track European gauge railway connecting Warsaw, Kaunas, Vilnius, Panevėžys, Riga, Pärnu, and Tallinn

The selected tenderer will also redesign the electrical, municipal and engineering networks in the area and construct safe animal migration crossings.

In addition, it will build a car viaduct, two road bridges and 13 local access roads.

The contract is expected to be signed in the second half of 2023 and the planned works will be scheduled for completion within two years.

Dovydas Palaima, General Manager at LTG Infra Rail Baltica Management said:

“We actively announce new procurements of construction works, next year, as soon as the weather allows it, formation of the track bed will begin in Jonava District.”

LTG Infra, which is responsible for implementing the Rail Baltica project in Lithuania, is also expected to announce a tender for the construction works in the section from Kaunas–Šveicarija Village in the near future.
