With passenger experience integral in impacting whether people travel by train, InnoTrans 2024 will include a focus on smart solutions for catering and onboard comfort.
At the event, around 20 exhibitors will showcase innovations in Travel Catering and Comfort Services (TCCS) within the Interiors segment.
The TCCS-themed route will present a range of products such as intelligent coffeemakers, vending machines, sustainable travel catering, dishwashers, digital billing systems, trolleys, hygiene solutions and innovative surface materials.
Specific exhibitors include:
- Rex-Royal with its Swiss coffee machines
- HOBART with a new generation of under-counter dishwashers
- CSI Trolley with customised trolleys for onboard catering
- gatesolutions, which provides a one-stop shop for an onboard culinary experience
InnoTrans 2024 will also host the Hospitality Forum, which will be a platform for discussions on railway catering.
The forum will be organised by the International Rail Catering Group (IRCG) and will take place on 25 September from 2 to 4pm at CityCube Berlin.
It will include a panel discussion on “The future of railway catering in conjunction with rail vehicle manufacturers’ technical innovations”.
This panel will address several key questions:
- Does onboard catering for rail passengers have a future?
- How does onboard catering for rail passengers influence rail vehicle design?
- What should caterers bear in mind when developing their product range?
The panel discussion will be followed by a presentation on the influence of European legislation on developments in catering on long-distance trains.
