At InnoTrans 2024, Alstom and Airbus Protect marked a significant achievement in their ongoing partnership to enhance cybersecurity in the rail sector.
Since signing a global cooperation agreement in September 2021, the companies have made substantial progress in developing and testing a comprehensive Risk Assessment Methodology tailored for rail transport. This development aims to protect the security of rail infrastructure against rising cyber threats.
Through their partnership, Alstom and Airbus Protect have created a robust risk assessment framework designed to protect the rail industry from increasing cyber risks.
“In the context of rising cyber risks across all sectors, Alstom is committed to safeguarding the rail assets of our customers. Our collaboration with Airbus Protect will ensure the continued success of green mobility worldwide.”
The newly developed Risk Assessment Methodology has been successfully field-tested and is now set to be deployed across Alstom projects.
The methodology is integrated into Fence, Airbus Protect’s risk assessment tool, which provides a centralised risk database for Alstom. This enables the reuse of risk assessments across multiple projects, while also managing knowledge bases and permissions more efficiently.
This unified approach ensures Alstom can effectively meet customer demands relating to the EBIOS RM risk management framework, IEC 62443 international standards, and CLC/TS 50701 technical specifications.
The standardisation of risk assessments across the organisation not only improves efficiency but also strengthens Alstom’s ability to protect critical rail infrastructure.
