InnoTrans 2026: Technology from Fulda Makes Rail Vehicles Smarter, Safer, and More Efficient

When the international rail and transport technology industry gathers at InnoTrans in Berlin from September 22 to 25, 2026, JUMO will present innovative sensor solutions for rail transport in CityCube, Hall A, Booth 240. The focus will be on reliable measurement systems for temperature, pressure, humidity, and level.

The requirements for railway technology continue to increase. Operators and manufacturers need components that work precisely even under extreme conditions and contribute to the safety, availability, and economic efficiency of vehicles over the long term. JUMO offers a broad portfolio of sensor solutions suitable for use in rail vehicles and compliant with the relevant requirements of the railway industry.

Data Is the Foundation of Safe Operating Processes

Lars Ronge, Transportation Industry Manager at JUMO, said:

In the railway industry, reliability, durability, and data quality matter more than almost anywhere else. Today, sensors provide not only measured values but also the foundation for safe operating processes, condition-based maintenance, and economical vehicle operation. Anyone familiar with railway operations knows that every unplanned disruption costs time, money, and trust. That is why we develop solutions that continue to operate accurately under vibration, temperature fluctuations, and electromagnetic influences.

A special highlight at the exhibition booth is the JUMO railTEMP. Developed specifically for railway applications, this wheelset temperature sensor enables continuous temperature monitoring of safety-critical components and supports the early detection of critical operating conditions. This helps prevent unplanned failures and enables targeted optimization of maintenance processes.

For greater comfort and energy efficiency in rail vehicles, the JUMO hydroTRANS provides intelligent humidity and temperature measurement. This transmitter monitors climate conditions inside the vehicle and is also available with optional CO₂ measurement. It supports modern air-conditioning concepts and contributes to high air quality for passengers.

In addition, JUMO is presenting the JUMO MIDAS S19 R, a pressure transmitter designed for demanding railway applications. Its robust design and suitability for high shock, vibration, and EMC requirements make it a reliable solution for numerous pressure measurement tasks in rail transport.

The portfolio is complemented by additional railway solutions such as the JUMO VIBROtemp resistance thermometer and electronic thermostats. Together, these products cover a broad range of measured variables and enable comprehensive monitoring of important vehicle functions.

JUMO warmly invites all trade visitors to experience these solutions and applications live at InnoTrans 2026 and exchange ideas with experts about current challenges and future trends in the railway industry.

The JUMO Group, headquartered in Fulda, employs around 2,600 people worldwide and is a leading systems and solutions provider in industrial sensor and automation technology. JUMO products are used, for example, in the industries of thermal process engineering, heating, air conditioning and ventilation, food and beverages, renewable energy, and water and wastewater. In 2025, the company generated revenue of €307 million.
