Design Flexibility Improved – New, Potential-Free DC-OK Signal
The DC-OK signal, also known as the power-good signal or the power-fail signal, indicates that the output voltage level of a power supply will be within the nominal range. All DC/DC converters out of the intreXis Boardnet Converter Platform have been upgraded with a galvanically isolated DC-OK signal. The solid-state relay allows the use of various voltages to monitor the power supply, especially in redundant applications. Furthermore, the high isolation voltage of 2 kVAC ensures that the DC-OK signal can be referenced to the input and the output voltage. In comparison to a classical relay, the solid-state relay does have many advantages: it is not sensitive to vibrations, the contacts don’t degenerate and it works also reliable in case the current is low. In sum, the new potential-free DC-OK signal improves design flexibility for railway engineers and increases the competitiveness of the successful intreXis converters.
