DB Cargo UK has announced the official appointment of Wayne Miller as its new Engineering Director.

Miller will begin his role in January 2026, at which point he will take up responsibility for DB Cargo UK’s three major engineering centres at Toton, Stoke and Crewe, in addition to the company’s maintenance outstations.

Currently serving as DB’s Head of Service Design; Miller will take on the role as the company looks to expand its third-party client base.

With previous experience as an engineer for the British Army, Miller also possesses a BSc in Engineering Management, and joined what was, at the time, DB Schenker as an engineer in 2014, before progressing to become a Business Solutions Manager.

In 2017, Miller became Account Manager in the sales team, before being promoted to the Head of Service Design position in January 2023.

Wayne Miller said:

Over the next few years, we will be making significant additional investment in our engineering facilities which will allow us to service an even larger and more diverse client base,” he added.

We already have an impressive portfolio of customers in both the rail passenger and freight sectors, however our ambition is to add to the range of products and services we provide. It’s an exciting time for DB.
