The UK Government has called on anybody with either relevant experience or a special interest in the Railways Bill to submit their views in writing to the House of Commons Bill Committee.

Evidence provided is set to be used as part of the first Committee meeting to discuss the new Railways Bill on Tuesday 20 January 2026, in which the Bill will be ‘scrutinised line by line’.

The Committee will meet for the first time on Tuesday 20 January 2026

Evidence relating to the establishment of the Bill, which aims to establish Great British Railways (GBR), will be collected until Thursday 12 February.

Once the committee concludes its consideration of the Bill, it will no longer be able to receive written evidence.

Those able to contribute views to the meeting have been advised to do so via email ([email protected]).
