CAF has officially opened a set of brand-new service facilities at Lowry Park, Manchester.

The sites, which cover an area of 5,000 m², represent an investment of 10 million GBP, and will host both maintenance and overhaul work on various key components, including wheels and bogies.

CAF has stated that there are plans to expand the scope of activities in the near future, with a wider aim of supporting the next generation of rail services once the facilities achieve full realisation.

Increased capacity provided by the new facilities is expected to allow for faster response times, greater fleet reliability, safer and more effiicent maintenance services.

The investment reflects CAF’s long-term commitment to the UK rail industry, where, in addition to its modern train manufacturing plant in Newport (Wales), it currently manages 14 maintenance contracts for various clients within its services business.
