The Turkish manufacturer Bozankaya has showcased the 16th vehicle of its new tram fleet for Naples at InnoTrans 2026.
The low-floor trams, nicknamed the “Tram del Mare” (Tram of the Sea), have also drawn wider attention after Bozankaya’s promotional video featured the late footballer Diego Maradona, a lasting icon in the city.

Design and Configuration
The bi-directional trams are 30 metres long and 2.4 metres wide. Each has five has a driver’s cab at each end, with 100 per cent low-flooring throughout to improve access for passengers with reduced mobility.
The vehicles carry an azure livery in Naples’ traditional colour, with the tram on display at InnoTrans depicting a mural of legendary footballer Diego Maradona in his iconic Napoli number 10 jersey.

Each side has four double-leaf doors and two single-leaf doors to speed up boarding. The trams can carry up to 274 passengers, with 64 seats and room for 210 standing. The passenger saloon and both cabs have their own air conditioning.
Entry into Service
Vehicles continue to arrive at the San Giovanni depot in Naples. Full operation is expected later this year on the route between San Giovanni a Teduccio and Piazza Sannazaro.
