Bombardier to Provide 162 MOVIA Vehicles to Delhi Metro

Bombardier Transportation has been awarded a contract to supply India’s Delhi Metro Corporation Ltd (DMRC) with 163 BOMBARDIER MOVIA metro cars. DMRC already has a fleet of 614, this contract will increase to 776 and make it one of the largest metro fleets in the world. The order is worth approximately 204 million (15 billion INR, $228 million US). Delivery of the MOVIA metro cars will begin the first quarter of 2016 and is scheduled to finish early 2018.

These additional trains will be delivered from our state-of-the-art manufacturing sites in Vadodara.
The modern, high capacity MOVIA metro vehicles integrate some of the world’s most advanced mobility technologies such as the BOMBARDIER MITRAC propulsion system and the BOMBARDIER FLEXX Metro 3000 bogies. in its six-car configuration, these new vehicles will accommodate 1740 passengers and once configured into eight-car sets, they will be able to carry as many as 2,400 passengers.
