Sindelfingen, 14.11.2025. The independent specialist for refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump technology BITZER has signed an agreement with Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems (MEHITS) to establish a new joint venture focused on research and development. The venture will enable BITZER and MEHITS, specialised in applied air conditioning solutions for comfort, process and IT cooling, to pool expertise and resources, ultimately delivering even more targeted solutions for the customer of MEHITS.

BITZER and MEHITS
Christian Wehrle (CEO BITZER), Wataru Tsuruta (CEO MEHITS), Rainer Große-Kracht (CTO BITZER), Gianmarco Gianesello (General Manager and Purchasing Director MEHITS) and Frank Hartmann (CFO BITZER) have signed the agreement for a joint venture

The newly formed joint venture BITZER MEHITS Advanced Solutions GmbH will intensify the longstanding partnership spanning more than 25 years of BITZER and MEHITS and functions as a research and development hub. MEHITS is a company of the MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC Group. By integrating compressor and component development more closely with the overall system design, both companies aim to accelerate innovation cycles and enhance system efficiency for the specific applications of MEHITS. The new compressor developments from this joint venture company will focus on strengthening the compressor line up for MEHITS products. MEHITS contributes deep system integration expertise, while BITZER brings decades of experience in compressor and component technologies. BITZER will hold the majority stake in the venture.

Christian Wehrle, CEO of BITZER, said:

We are delighted to deepen our more than 25-year partnership with MEHITS through this joint venture. This step allows us to work even more closely together and jointly advance the efficiency of integrated system technology.

Wataru Tsuruta, CEO of MEHITS, adds:

Having proprietary compressor technologies is essential to meet our evolving needs. BITZER has been the ideal partner for over two decades – and will continue to be so as we move forward together.

The joint venture will be headquartered in Germany. Subject to approval by the relevant antitrust authorities, the joint venture is expected to commence operations in due course.
