Alumast S.A. has provided its composite lighting columns for the reconstructed Rybnik – Chałupki line in Poland. The project to modernise the line included the restoration and replacement of tracks, overhead contact lines and security infrastructure, as well as new stations, shed and with it, new lighting columns.
The design of the columns makes them ideal for use on and around railway lines, made of a composite material which does not conduct electricity, making them especially safe for passengers and eliminating the risk of stray voltage. They are lightweight and resistant to corrosion, reducing transport and installation costs.
The columns are certified by the Railway Institute in Warsaw and are in use by Polish Railway Lines (PKP PLK S.A.).

Composite lighting poles have a life-span of up to 40 years. Thanks to their low weight they do not require any heavy assembly equipment during their installation and operation. Alumast’s lighting poles were tested by the Railway Institute in Warsaw and they are accepted by Polish Railway Lines (PKP PLK SA). Our composite poles are highly recommended to be used on rail infrastructure.
Composite Lighting Poles
Composite Lighting Poles are to be used on railway stations, level crossings and other areas managed by railway companies.
Having a special calculations program that complies with EN 1991-1-4 we are able to calculate the wind loads and weights of installed devices on the poles. Therefore, our composite poles can be used not only for light fixtures but also for the installation of antennas, semaphores, intercoms, etc.
Composite Lighting Poles with Hinged Mechanism
Composite lighting poles with a special hinged mechanisms enable the maintenance and repair of a luminaire to be done from the ground level. There is no need for a power cut or train reorganisation. Composite poles with this mechanism are perfect for hard-to-reach places where access for heavy machines is limited.

Composite Light Pole With a Pattern
Light pole with a pattern is a revolutionary solution on the lighting market. The customer has the possibility to design his own graphic project. It is possible to print texts or high resolution photographs. The material with pattern is one of the layers of lighting column. The gelcoat layer protects the printing against being damaged. Additionally, the pole can be illuminated from inside which makes the pole visible at night. It creates a beautiful landscape element i.e. of the railway station.
