This is a continuation of the partnership between the two organisations, which began in 2000 with the development of the 8-kilometre elevated dual-lane guideway APM system known as Skylink.

Since its opening in May 2005, Skylink has achieved outstanding results in availability, exceeding 99% each year and carried over 20 million passengers annually, pre-pandemic, between DFW’s five terminals.

Alstom has provided maintenance services since the system’s launch and this new contract will see the rail manufacturer continue with this support up to January 2032.

Michael Keroullé, President of Alstom Americas, said:

“We're incredibly pleased and proud to extend our partnership with Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.

“The customer’s renewed trust in Alstom proves our operations and maintenance expertise in helping customers provide efficient, reliable, and safe service for their end users.”

Under the new contract, valued at over 200 million euros (216m USD), Alstom will provide ongoing preventive and corrective maintenance of the system’s 64 Innovia APM 200 vehicles, subsystems and related components, such as switches, power distribution, station doors, public address announcements and station signage.

It will also be responsible for the maintenance of the guideway, including the running surface, guide beam, third rail power and related switches, power distribution, heating systems and automatic train control (ATC) equipment.
