Alstom has launched a new report that highlights the importance of safeguarding Sweden’s railway and presents a number of solutions for the improvement of the country’s network.

The report, ‘Bringing the railway up to speed with Sweden – five proposals for a better railway system‘, presents five proposals that aim to provide improvements to the punctuality, capacity, infrastructure, skills development and overall innovation rate of Sweden’s railway.

The report focuses on five key areas of potential improvement

The five proposals include increased collaboration to both speed up and optimise construction, the harnessing of industry expertise for the implementation of ERTMS, new procurement methods for construction and maintenance, the leveraging and development of skills within the railway sector and the promotion of technological development and innovation in a sustainable transport system.
