Alstom has announced a new partnership with Operation Lifesaver Inc. (OLI), a non-profit organisation dedicated to the prevention of collisions, injuries and fatalities on and around railroad tracks and highway-rail grade crossings.
OLI was first established in the US in 1972, and is a nationally-recognised leader in rail safety education.

Tania Fauchon, Head of Railway Safety, Alstom, said:At Alstom, rail safety begins with our unwavering commitment to quality — in our products, systems, and services. Ensuring optimal performance is not just a technical goal; it’s a responsibility we carry to protect our people, passengers, and the communities we serve. Our collaboration with Operation Lifesaver, alongside our industry peers, is a powerful reflection of this commitment.
Through community outreach and education, we proudly contribute to a shared mission: saving lives and fostering a culture of safety across the rail network.
The collaboration has thus far seen more than 50 Alstom employees across North America choose to become trained Operation Lifesaver volunteers.
Alstom has also announced its participation in 2025’s Rail Safety week, a time in which industry partners, safety organisations, community leaders and first responders come together to remind the public about the potential dangers of railroad tracks and trains.
Rail Safety week will run from 15–21 September.
Rachel Maleh, Executive Director, Operation Lifesaver, Inc. , said:OLI is thrilled to welcome Alstom employees as Operation Lifesaver Authorized Volunteers (OLAVs) sharing rail safety education in their communities.
We are thankful for their partnership in supporting our lifesaving mission to help #STOPTrackTragedies.
