Train leasing company Alpha Trains has contracted Siemens Mobility to deliver maintenance services for its Vectron locomotives for a period of 15 years.
The work will be performed at Siemens Mobility in thirteen countries at the Siemens Mobility service facilities that are situated along the major trans-European railway corridors.
“With this order, Alpha Trains will benefit from our Europe-wide depot and service network as well as our comprehensive domain know-how in the maintenance of Vectron locomotives. In addition, the cloud-based Railigent X applications, which are part of the open, digital Siemens Xcelerator business platform, will enable us to maintain the locomotives efficiently and ensure their maximum service availability.”
Siemens Mobility is also the manufacturer of the Vectron locomotive.

All Vectron locomotives feature a remote data access system that integrates with Railigent X to allow for condition-based maintenance to take place.
Alpha Trains has in the region of 185 locomotives and multiple units made by Siemens Mobility in its portfolio. Of these, more than 80 are Vectron locomotives and more than 90 are Mireo, Mireo Plus B and Desiro trains.
This latest order is the largest service contract signed between the two companies.
