VUZ – Dynamic Component Testing

The Railway Research Institute offer accredited and non-accredited clients component testing services, small parts  and complex units can be tested. The hall is equipped with a main testing block with a 2500 ton capacity and a small testing block with a 600 ton capacity which is completely separated from the building foundations. Several tests can be performed here simultaneously.

Every component test is set accurately to meet the required standards, the VUZ systems allow up to 30 hydraulic test actuators to be controlled at once.

Component testing simulates the operating conditions of components and structural units, according to a predefined program, testing variety includes:

  • Static and dynamic strength tests
  • Compression and tearing tests
  • Damping and springing parts tests
  • Drawbar and buffing gear tests
  • Functional load and overload tests
  • Vibration and dynamic tests

The centre most frequently performs static fatigue tests on: train bogies, subway bogies and tram bogies, bus frames can also be tested at the facility. VUZ is ready to not only test vehicle parts and equipment but also building and structural components.
