US: Brightline Reaches Construction Milestone at Boca Raton Station

Brightline has celebrated the ‘topping-off’ of its Boca Raton station and parking garage in Florida.

The event marks the completion of all vertical and structural work for the new station.

Brightline and its construction partner Kaufman Lynn will now focus on completing the interior work prior to the station opening later this year.

Patrick Goddard, president of Brightline said:

“Our construction teams are working across South Florida and throughout the state to connect Florida like never before and we can’t wait to connect to Boca. Boca, which has become a hub for technology and innovation, and the new station will allow us to connect visitors and locals to this thriving city with modern, eco-friendly transportation.”

Once complete, Boca Raton will be the fourth Brightline station in Florida, connecting travellers to Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. Brightline’s fifth station in Aventura will also open in 2022, prior to the service to Orlando commencing in 2023.

The Boca Raton station project is being completed in partnership with the City of Boca Raton and the Federal Railroad Administration, who awarded Brightline with a CRISI grant valued at 16.4 million USD.

This grant obliges Brightline to construct the new infrastructure using products that have been manufactured within the US.
