Transmashholding subsidiary Kolomensky Zavod has delivered its 1000th 18-9DG diesel generator set designed for the 2TE25Km model Bryansk freight diesel locomotive as part of a deal for 196 generator sets delivered to BMZ in 2016. The locomotive optimises the haulage of freight trains whilst reducing operating costs by improving engine capacity and increasing the weight on driving axles. The 2TE25Km locomotive is the first of its kind in Russia to be certified under the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union

Transmashholding and MIIT Enter Partnership

The delivery comes shortly after the announcement of a partnership and collaboration agreement was signed between Transmashholding and Moscow State University of Railway Engineering (MIIT) to develop the education, training and careers of Transmashholiding engineering and technical staff. MIIT will benefit from its involvement in the domestic transport engineering industry.

The agreement, which was signed on 5 April 2016 by Kirill Lipa, General Director of JSC Transmashholding and Boris Levin, rector of MIIT, relates to employer-sponsored education for Transmashholding experts, with an allowance for scholarships and grants for top students, as well as internships and job placements for MIIT graduates. There will also be the opportunity for managers and other staff of Transmashholding to participate in MBA and Executive MBA programmes.

Transmashholding employees will also teach future engineers, providing practical training, certification activities and postgraduate and adjustment training courses. They will also boost the University’s participation in scientific events.
