The units, type TEM18DM, will go to Mongolia’s national railway operator Ulaanbaatar Railway. These two locomotives are part of a contract signed in 2019 that will remain active until the end of 2021. The contract was for 10 TEM18DM diesel locomotives and 14 2TE25KM mainline freight diesel locomotives.

TMH shipped the two shunting locomotives with KVARTZ-M2 audio and video recording system.

TMH’s plant in Bryansk organises training courses for locomotive maintenance personnel and operating crews. During the coronavirus pandemic, 87 railway experts from Mongolia completed their coursework and passed the necessary exams online.

TMH has been manufacturing TEM18DM locomotives since 2008.
