Rail Products
Our range of TUFF Handsets includes the RIS-0794 TOSQA-approved GSM-R TUFF Handset and handsets for Passenger Information Systems (PIS), Passenger Announcements (PA), and Guard Operator Panels (GOP).
All DAC TUFF handsets comply with EN50155 and EN45545 standards.
We’re incredibly proud of the results the TUFF Handset range has delivered for train operating companies, manufacturers, and maintainers around the world. A standout example is the TUFF handsets deployed in ScotRail’s RETB system, installed between 2014 and 2022. As of April 2024, MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) calculations – run in collaboration with our client – showed performance in excess of 1 million hours.
DAC’s RA708 trackside telephone is used by railway agencies worldwide. Available with an analogue, GSM, or VoIP interface. Commonly installed at level crossings and user-worked crossings, it serves as an emergency telephone and enables the public to communicate safely when interacting with live railways.
Backed by years of product development, DAC’s RA708 was found in an independently verified Network Rail study to be up to three times more reliable than alternative trackside telephones used across the UK network.
Demand in the rail industry is often highly specialised, which is why we work closely with partners to design bespoke solutions. Each project is tailored to meet unique technical requirements, ensuring precision, durability, and dependable performance every time.
As engineers at heart, we speak with confidence – not only from hands-on experience and innovation, but also from data and insights that support our solutions with measurable outcomes.
