AQ Trafo started as a spin-out from ABB and has a vast experience of design and manufacturing of inductive components for railway applications including, rolling stock and fixed installations. Since the company was founded in 1994 we have expanded our presence to design and/or production facilities in Sweden, Bulgaria, Italy, China and India.
Railway Transformers and Inductors
Our transformers and inductors are used in many critical and demanding applications for High Speed Trains, EMUs, Metros and Trams inside main converters, auxiliary converters and electric cabinet assemblies. They are mounted on the roof, under the train, inside converter enclosures, in electric cabinets or on PCBs. The products range from 1VA to 2MVA with a system voltage up to 3 kV.

We offer a number of advanced services including feasibility studies, CAD design, FE electrical and mechanical analysis and tests according to main EN/IEC standards. Our cost effective production in Bulgaria, China and India are located in the regions where our customers have their business. Regional sales, development, support and production continues to be an objective for AQ Trafo.
IRIS Certification and Welding
AQ Trafo is committed to quality and we continuously adapt to new requirements in the railway market. Our factories in Bulgaria and China are IRIS certified. They are also certified against EN ISO 15085-2 for welding of railway vehicle parts.
