RECOM is expanding its portfolio of regulated 6W DC/DC converters with the REC6K-AW and REC6K-RW series.

These cost-efficient product families offer a wide 4:1 input range, regulated isolated outputs, high power density and suitability for space-constrained industrial applications. While the REC6K-AW series is housed in an industry-standard 1″x1″ package, the REC6K-RW series uses a proven DIP24 format.

The new converters cover input ranges of 9-36VDC and 18-75VDC respectively and are available with single and dual outputs. Depending on the variant, output voltages range from 3.3VDC to 24VDC, with dual outputs of ±5V, ±12V and ±15V also offered. Output currents reach up to 1.5A, with regulated power ratings of up to 6W. Both series operate without a minimum load, making them suitable for a broad range of industrial power applications.

Despite their compact form factor, both series provide comprehensive protection functions. These include continuous short-circuit protection with automatic recovery, overcurrent protection and overvoltage protection. In addition, both families integrate undervoltage lockout. The REC6K-AW series offers 1500VDC/1min isolation, while the REC6K-RW series provides 4000VDC/1min for applications with higher isolation requirements.

The series are also designed for demanding thermal environments. Depending on the variant, the converters operate at ambient temperatures from -40°C to +100°C and up to +105°C with derating. Maximum case temperature is +125°C. This makes the modules well suited for Industrial & Automation, Railway, Energy, Industrial Machinery and Test & Measurement applications. The REC6K-AW series is optimized for high functional density in a 1″x1″ format and, for single-output models, additionally offers a ±10% trim function as well as an ON/OFF control pin. The REC6K-RW series in DIP24 package format addresses designers who prefer a classic through-hole solution with high isolation; a control function is optionally available via variants with the /P suffix.
