On Site Welding

On-site railway welding is carried out directly on the track during construction, repair or maintenance work. This process joins rail sections together, either during new track installation or when replacing damaged rail segments. Methods such as flash butt welding and aluminothermic (thermite) welding are commonly used, depending on the application. On-site welding minimises disruption, ensures strong rail joints and helps restore track integrity without requiring rail sections to be transported off site.
