Transport for London (TfL) has begun testing its new fleet of DLR trains, which will commence passenger service later this year.

In total, 54 new trains are being introduced to improve the frequency and reliability of services across the network.

The new trains have been designed with passengers in mind, offering a range of modern features, including:
- Spacious walk-through carriages for easier movement between coaches
- Increased capacity and reliability to meet growing demand
- Live travel information displays
- Air conditioning for a more comfortable journey
- Improved accessibility features to support all passengers
- Charging points for mobile devices
- Enhanced door technology to speed up boarding and improve safety
The new trains are currently undergoing reliability testing, and passengers may notice them running in service with a special livery.

Testing began in September 2025, with the aim of ensuring the fleet is ready for introduction to service later in the year.
