Due to the coronavirus pandemic and the fact that the Berlin Senate issued a decree on 21 April 2020 banning events with more than 5,000 people until 24 October 2020, InnoTrans 2020, which was due to take place in September, has been postponed.

The German government itself has banned all large-scale events until at least 31 August 2020 and will make further announcements on 30 April.

InnoTrans itself will issue further information about an alternative event date at the start of May at the latest. It is of course likely that an alternative date will be in 2021, as any time in 2020 is completely unrealistic and in 2022 would make no sense either as that is the year of the following InnoTrans.

This ban on major events affects cultural and sporting events in Berlin.
