GMV has been awarded a contract by Talgo for the supply of intelligent transportation systems (ITS) for the company’s new sleeper trains bound for Egyptian National Railways (ENR).

The agreement is set to cover the integration of the public address, intercom, video surveillance (CCTV) and mobile communication gateway (MGC) systems.

The contract includes the supply of all ITS for the new sleeper trains

The supplied public address and intercom systems will allow for the train crew to issue notices and warnings to passengers, as well as maintain both ordinary and emergency onboard communications, and the video surveillance systems will include a digital network video recorder (NVR). It will also come with assigned IP cameras distributed throughout each train, as well as touchscreen monitors with real-time viewing in the control cabins.

The MCG system will collate onboard diagnostic information, which will then be provided to a central location for further analysis.

All ITS supplied by GMV are set to be fully integrated into the train’s monitoring and control processes in order to ensure interoperability with the rest of the onboard equipment, as well as facilitate efficient management of all rail operations.
