Euromaint has been assigned the project to refurbish and modernise 12 vehicles for the Italian train operator Ente Autonomo Volutro (E.A.V.). The order value is MEUR 24.

The vehicles will undergo a complete refurbishment and modernisation with, amongst others, a new communication system, air condition and a new interior. The vehicles, of model FE220, has operated the Napoli area since the 1970s and will, as a result of the project, be able to operate for approximately another 15 years.

EuroMaint to Refurbish Older Trains

Modernising and refurbish older vehicles is an effective way to maximise the return on the considerable investment that an acquisition of trains means. Euromaint has a long experience of successful refurbishment projects and I am very pleased with E.A.V.s decision to trust us with this project and let us contribute to a good travel experience for the passengers within the Circumvesuviana network, says Ove Bergkvist, CEO of Euromaint Rail.

The project will mainly be carried out at Euromaints workshop in Delitzsch, Germany. The project starts in January and will be finalised in December 2015.
