The European Commission has announced the launch of the last call for proposals under the current multiannual financial framework (MFF) to both build and modernise transport infrastructure on the EU’s trans-European transport network (TEN-T).

Worth 1.1 billion EUR; the MFF seeks projects to contribute to the EU’s overall plan to connect Europe through high-speed rail and strengthen maritime connectivity in line with the recently presented EU Industrial Maritime and Ports Strategies.

Funding has been pledged to aid the development of infrastructure relating to the TEN-T network

The funding will also be used to reinforce Europe’s defence readiness by address military mobility bottlenecks, as well as support the expedited implementation of the EU’s military mobility package.

A flagship instrument for the funding and implementation of the EU’s TEN-T policy; CEF will see projects selected that aim to deliver smarter, more efficient and sustainable transport infrastructure, improve interoperability, and strengthen the resilience of the transport network across the EU.

This latest call places emphasis on rail, inland waterways and military mobility, as well as support for the electrification of road haulage and airport ground operations, deployment of charging infrastructure in maritime and inland ports, and the digitalisation of road transport.

The call will also include Ukraine and Moldova under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), reflecting deepening transport links with the EU.

All applications must be submitted by 6 October 2026.
