DB InfraGO AG has completed the installation of a unified digital control system for rail operations scheduling, replacing its previous decentralised software system.
Carried out as part of the PRISMA programme (Programme Redesign Information Systems Operation and Modernisation of Architecture), both the operation centres and network control centre have been fitted with the new system network.

The new programme’s installation was completed overnight during a weekend, allowing for time for the new system to pass a technical and professional operational readiness declaration. During the transition, existing systems were closely monitored, with a fallback plan set in place.
Philipp Nagl, CEO of DB InfraGO AG, said:With PRISMA, we have modernised the heart of our operational management: our dispatching system. It is responsible for ensuring that trains are guided reliably and safely through the network – especially in the event of disruptions, delays, or construction sites. Decisions regarding train control are now based on a uniform, network-wide overview of the condition of the infrastructure – in real time.
This is a milestone in the digitalisation of the German railway system, making rail operations in Germany more modern, stable, and future-proof. Direct customer information will also become more reliable.
We would like to thank everyone involved in our operations centres, the network control centre, the specialist departments, and the IT teams for their dedicated efforts – both in the intensive technical and organisational preparation and now in the transition. Our thanks also go to our customers – the railway companies – for their participation in the tests and preparations.
Together, we have demonstrated that such a complex IT system change can be implemented successfully and reliably during ongoing rail operations.
